Pallets are commonly understood as standardized containers that can be used many times for convenient placement and transportation of goods by sea. The use of a pallet significantly speeds up the loading and unloading of goods, makes them more convenient, which is primarily due to the possibility of using mechanization. Cargoes on transport pallets are placed in the inside of cargo containers, their compact arrangement allows to reduce the financial costs associated with transportation and minimize the likelihood of damage to the integrity of the goods.

Varieties of products

Materials for the manufacture of containers - wood, plastic and metal, this material is resistant to high temperatures. In most cases, preference is given to pallets made of wood, their main advantage is an affordable price. Such products can be repaired and sent to the scrap without negative consequences for the environment.

Euro pallets 800x1200x145 mm

These products have a stamp located on the front post, it is placed in a special frame. The first stamp is represented by the abbreviation EUR - confirms that the pallet meets the requirements of European standards. The second stamp is represented by the abbreviation EPAL - this designation indicates that the product is manufactured taking into account the requirements of EPAS. The remaining structural elements, which have a vertical arrangement, are supplemented with information about the country in which the product was manufactured, about the processing of the material and data of the series. The dimensions of the structural components are regulated by ISO3676, ISPM 15, ISOTK / 22 standards, which all manufacturers are guided by. The upper part includes 5 planks, 3 of them are wide, their size is 145 mm and 2 are narrow, their size is 100 mm. The lower part is supplemented with 3 strips - 2 narrow and 1 wide. The corners are blunted with chamfers.

These products do not require a certificate. Also, manufacturers produce products 800x1200m, we are talking about a cage made of steel, the euro pallet acts as its base.

Fin pallets 1000x1200x145 mm

To mark such pallets, a stamp containing the abbreviation FIN placed in a special frame is used. Information about the product is presented on the central leg. The upper plane includes 7 boards, there are both wide boards, 120 mm in size, and narrow boards - 100 mm. The minimum thickness of the carrier board is 20 mm, it can be increased depending on the goals. The lower plane is represented by 3 planks. The corners are blunted with chamfers. Once the product has been manufactured, there is no need to obtain a certificate.

How can pallets be arranged in different containers?

The use of pallets that meet the requirements of the standards makes it possible to preliminarily develop a scheme for their placement in different containers. The content of this scheme is greatly influenced by the dimensions of products and modules made of metal. The total height of the package, including the height of the pallet and the part of the cargo protruding beyond the structure, must not exceed 1.8 m. There is a complete ban on crossing the border of pallets.

Capacity of a 20' container

A 20' container holds: 11 euro pallets (two layouts to choose from), in the case of financial pallets, the quantity is limited to 9 or 10 items.

How many pallets can fit in a 40ft container?

A 40-foot container holds:

• 25 euro pallets. The layout is standard, includes two rows. If we are talking about a wide container, then the number of pallets can be increased to 30, their long sides are placed perpendicular to the walls of the container;
• 22 financial pallets. A similar arrangement is implemented as with euro pallets. In wide containers, pallets can be increased up to 24, while the layout is not subject to change.

How many pallets can a 45' container hold?

27 euro pallets. The layout is standard, includes two rows. In the case of wide containers, the number of pallets increases to 33, they line up in three rows, where they are placed parallel to the longitudinal wall of the container;

24 financial pallets, which is relevant for the standard width, in the case of an increased width, the number of pallets can be increased to 26.
